MsGS400
98 GS 400 I was driving my car when a loud high pitch noise sounds from the inside cabin. I opened the windows and the noise was definately coming from the front inside cabin. I came to a complete stop and the noise continued. It almost sounded as if my radio was trying to receive a signal however, the radio was completely off. This is the second time this has happened, always at low or no speeds, very weird. Each time I heard it, I thought it was the radio but it is not. Has anyone ever experienced this and/or what could it be??? I never have time to open the hood while the noise is sounding. It comes on then off in about 5 - 10 seconds. I can hear it really loudly when I am holding on the brakes. Checked the brakes, their good. Sounds like you have the infamous phantom radio - a ghost in the machine! :P Just kidding. Have you actually lifted the hood to check if it's coming from the engine compartment?
