WA8ARS
I have a 2002 ES300 with navigation and have never upgraded. I see a lot of different versions and generations. Can anyone tell me what I can use to bring my system current? Thanks
Martin Nikolov
I have 2002 Es300 and navigation stop working. The DVD disk in the back did not move. So i go to a long process of finding what is the problem. CPU was the problem and cost me to repair $600. I decided to go with ebay and buy for $450. 2002 have Navteq generation 1 or 2, and I changed with generation 4. Bought disk for it and work. Update is only done with a new disk for the same generation. Good luck. Martin
BillyShaft
The 2002 ES300 is a Gen 2/3 system. You can update to the latest version 8.1. 8.1 came out in the last couple of months and is available on ebay or some of the club sponsors like sewell lexus. Sewell Nav update page here

stcist2
I too have a 02 es300 and the nav has never been updated, still works good and most info is acurate. why do you want to update it?
amf1932
I too have a 02 es300 and the nav has never been updated, still works good and most info is acurate. why do you want to update it? In 7 years since the original mapping was released there has been lot's of changes......new roads & points of interest, aside from the fact that the new mapping disc also upgrades the internal software in your navigation unit. SW03ES
Depends on where you live too, if you live in an area without a lot of growth and new roads being built then it might last a long time...not here.
