Morning Check Engine Light

Hello, I have been searching the forums for my exact problem but I cannot find it. Lately when I start my 1991 LS400 with 264,000 miles on it- the check engine light comes on- but it turns back off usually in less than 5 minutes. I can then drive the car all day and never see the light again. I can even let the car cool down for a few hours and I still do not get the light. Only in the morning do I get the light. (Every morning) I use synthetic oil and keep it in the garage. I cannot get to an Advanced Auto parts for a code because the check engine light would be off by the time I got there.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Set yourself up to read any codes before starting the car in the morning. Then start the car and see what you get. Here's how:
