Where Are My Subscriptions Going?

How come when I subscribe to a topic that I started, it disappears from my control panel after like a week? Is there a time limit to how long you can subscribe to a topic? Even if I change the restrictions on how many days, I still don't see it. I only started it about 2 weeks ago too.

Your control panel clears itself if the topic hasn't had any new posts for 5 days.
