Updating The Nav System

Recommended Posts

I have an update DVD for my 2006 GS300. I can not find out how to replace the disk. I check out the maintenance manual at the library but it doesn't show the disk removal. any help?

Have your checked your navigation system manual, it may be mentioned in there?

The old disc is located in your glove box. Open the glove box door.

Turn on the ACC power in your vehicle.

Press the MENU button.

Then look at the top left or top right of the screen for the MAP DVD button. Press it.

Then press EJECT DVD.

Insert new dvd.

I was told that the Nav DVD can only be changed/updated by the dealer (2008 GS350). Is this not true??

Not true. But then how else would the dealership take your money?

Thnaks for the info. Actually, the salesman went as far as to show me how to navigate to the screen where the "Eject DVD" button was located and told me "Don't ever touch that button or you will need a very expensive trip to the dealer to have it fixed." Sad. The rest of my buying experience was very good aside from that lie...
