jamesblacklexus Posted September 4, 2008 Posted September 4, 2008 so after i put th injen intake on the 93 sc 400 it started to smoke after putting th 5 w 30. it has 130k friend sd not good to have that oil go thicker. went w 20w 50. it only smokes when first start or hit the gas hard. i did a lil dogging it out. i figured the smoke was valves due to no loss power. i didnt mind a lil smoke everyonce in a while but couple days ago went to get stop smoke and check why when starts in mornign it cranks first time but not rpms take extra sec to go up like a slow start. motor cranks and then it starts to warm up in florida not cold but like a cold start. thought was electrical replaced altenator and batter . well when went to shop that day put stop smoke and check batter was fine but when went to check alt car wouldnt start for test. the car i might add was on angle nose pointed up . now i think it could be a valves leaking onto plugs prevent spark/ i replace plugs right there at parts store car cranked up smoke came out. drove home 5 minutes changed belt and went to crank it wouldnt crank. abt 4 hours later it did and has been starting but stil smoking. i saw on here the ignition replace i bought the cap and rotor and new wires. is there anythign else i need to do . also the plugs had oil on them. i suspect that the leaking of the valves could be causing the car not to start. want to see if anyone has had the white smoke when car starts. and then eventually not start and start mess w plugs find oil replace and then starts. should i do somethign simpple or is it serious and need to the valves seals or o rings?
UCF3 Posted September 5, 2008 Posted September 5, 2008 Are you seeing White Smoke or Blue / or Black? and why are you changing your Oil. Also am i reading this correctly, you've changed your oil from 5w to 20w? Do you mind clarifying what you did?
Clyde 1 Posted September 6, 2008 Posted September 6, 2008 White smoke, slow reving, hard to start when hot...... kinda sounds like a head gasket leaking coolant into a cylinder or 2......white smoke = coolant,........blue smoke = oil,..............black smoke = fuel, Getting oil in the cooling system? Having to add coolant? Engine temp normal? we need details
