Hazard Lights Not Working/map Lights Have A Short..help Please

I just purchased an 02 SC430 and the previous owner got a cd stuck in the indash changer. He had someone try to take the entire unit out to try to fix it??(not sure why)either way, after "Mr. Stereo" put the head unit back in, the hazard lights wont work and there is a short in the drivers side map light(it will only turn on when the top is closed?? There were no wires cut/patched...any ideas on how to fix this besides the possibilty of it being a short?
