Licenseplate Lights/lamp Replacement

Has anyone replaced these on a 1996 GS 300? Looks like plastic clips that need to be pushed with a screwdriver.

i did on my 2001 gs430 but i think mine just unscrewed from the exterior of the car.......do yours not do the same?

Yes, you will have to pop out those plastic caps (at least the first couple rows) to replace the license plate bulbs. The unscrew part from the exterior is only for replacement of the parking/rear brake light bulbs.
