Electronic Assist Steering Adjustment Grinding Sound

Hi! I have power steering adjustment on my 2006 IS250, I only have the car for a week and this morning I was trying to familiar the features. I had the IGN ON while I was studying the features maybe it was ON for 30 minutes, car is not running. After I'm finished I turned off the IGN and the steering column retracted and when I opened the driver's side door I hear this grinding sound coming from the steering column, the sound is only short about 1 second only. It wasn't like this the day before, I tested it the whole day and the noise is still there. Sometimes the grinding sound occurs when the steering is adjusting to my specs, but I always hear it when I'm about to exit the car after I open the driver side door. :cries:

Still under warranty. Go have it looked at.

I believe you're hearing the steering wheel lock pin engage.
