Hid (high Intensity Diode) Direct Bulb Replacement

Hi,

I was thinking to replace the back lighting of instrument panel with Hid (High Intensity Diode) direct bulb . I found a website which is selling std. wedge base 191. 161 & 168. Does anyone know if the bulbs with following wedge base is replaceable and if replacing regular bulbs with Hid (High Intensity Diode) direct bulb will cause any harm to the instrument panel or wiring??

dont see how this type of replacement would do anything on the optitron gauges...

i don't see a big deal with this one.

but it looks pretty cool.

i am sure it can be done..as people are always figuring out new stuff.

I think its meant more for aftermarket style gauges that are illuminated around the rim...
