Does anyone know how to permanently mute the volume on the GPS system?

I'm not sure what you mean by "permanently mute", but all you have to do to turn the volume off is:

"menu" -> "volume" -> "off"

that seems way too simple for you not to have figured it out on your own...

You're right. But I'm trying to figure out a way to turn it off so the next time I start the car, the volume is still off. Currently, it stays muted until I restart the car. Let me know if youre is staying permenently muted.

I have a question. Is it possible to isntall the lexus navi system on your lexus car after its been bought without one? In my case I just bought a 2003 IS 300.

Its possible, but extremely difficult and costly.

Thousands and thousands of dollars. They could probably retrofit an aftermarket system in that tray where the OEM one is for FAR less.

when i turn off the nav from the off botton on the controls and close the nav, the next time i start the car the sound remains off.
