I'm in total agreement with SW03ES on this one. Out of interest do they list what the package comprises? ← they said i will not have to wax the car for five years, they treat all the leather and trim, they scotch guard the carpet and floor mats, and it is all under warranty for five years. if there is a stain that they can not get it out then they will replace it.

Has anyone had the Touch of Class performed on their car by Lexus? Is it worth the $995? Thanks

I started my career shortly after high school in the United States Air Force. There I was a Senior Airman in the Civil Engineering Squadron where I did AutoCAD drafting, land surveying, and construction management. After almost five years and serving at F.E. Warren in Wyoming, Osan Air Base in South Korea, and Beale Air Force Base in Northern California, I discharged from the Air Force in order to start college. After the Air Force, I became a weekend warrior for the National Guard in Northern California as a heavy diesel mechanic where I met my wonderful husband. I discharged the National Guard in August of 2001. One month before September 11th. My Husband on the other hand was called up to guard the San Francisco airport. Now I am the IT / EFT manager at a credit union. I am thinking about going into the Air National Guard so I can payoff my student loans.

Brakes are pretty easy. With disc brakes remove the tire, remove one or more bolts on the caliper (sometimes you only need to remove the bottom one), replace the pads and reset the caliper with a C-clamp, then put back together. Drums take a little more time and effert because you have to remove springs. First, remove the drum, remove the top sprig, bottom, left and right, and the line hooked to the pad in the back, take the pads off, remove a few pins inorder to remove the arm (for lack of a better term). Then put back together but before you put the drum back on you must extend the pads out far enough so the drum has a snug fit otherwise the brakes will feel spongy and you will here a clicking noise coming from the brakes when pressing on the brakes because it is trying to set itself. There are different ways, to take off a drum. If you see a couple of threaded holes on the drum take a couple of bolts and screw them into the holes and that will force the drum off. I am not sure how to do the other ways. Hope this helps :)

we bought the is300 a couple of weeks ago and love it. however, we do not have any kids right now and when we do have kids it will be time to get a bigger car. the trunk is small and the back seat could be tight. i would recommed the IS only if it is not the primary family car. otherwise, the ES is the way to go.

when i turn off the nav from the off botton on the controls and close the nav, the next time i start the car the sound remains off.

a new version is coming out in october per the dealer. i just bought the 2004 is300 and now i will have to update next month. sucks
