Lexus Fans. I have a 2002 LS 430 (orig owner)...wonderful car in every aspect for my needs and wants. Today it is 89 degrees F here in my section of Los Angeles but my outside display shows 73 defrees F. This is the first time I have noticed any inaccuracy. It has always been spot on. Other than a malfunction of one or more of the components, is there any thing that I can reset or clean or adjust or?.

Just a guess, but did you just wash the car before you noticed the inaccurate reading? If the temperature sensor is wet it may read a lower than actual temperature due to the moisture evaporating off the sensor until the sensor is dry again. Other than that, I can't think of anything that would cause it to read low unless the sensor has failed and the 73F reading is a default reading.

Thanks for the replies. I did just wash the car. I'm still monitoring to be sure. How do you think I got the sensor wet? Where is it located. Thanks again.
