Replace Cabin Air Filter

Hi all, I have a 91 Celsior and wanted to know if anyone has the proper procedure for replacing cabin air filters. I believe 92-94 LS400 owners may have the same filters as my JDM jewel. ;)

To the best of my knowledge the cabin air filters were not used until the 1993 model year. My 92LS doesn't have one, that's for sure.

Yes, but JDM Lex had all the options and earlier, I have seen the filters but that was at the AC repair place.

Also car-stuff.com has cabin air filters for your model 92 thru 94 and they look just like the one that came out of my Celsior.

I have the actual Lexus shop/repair manuals for my '92 LS400 (and the '90 set) and there is NO cabin AIR filter.

Could you be mistakenly referring to the A/C's REFRIGERANT filter..??

Hey Bahamas, just replaced the cabin filters in my '94 LS today. It's really simple. There are 2 filters-You just remove the screw-in lower doobie under the dash after you pull off the face panel at the passenger front side. Somewhat confusing, but grab a beer, think about it, and it will be fine. You put one filter in, push it to the front, and then put the other one in. Funny thing is that when Pancho fixed my A/C unit 3 years ago, he forgot to reinstall the filters. But that's life here in Vegas.

Cost was $50. From Rockauto.com. Best of luck.
