hey guys i have a '95 sc400. When I first start the car when the engine is cold there's a very strong gas smell coming from the exhaust. When the car warms up you don't smell the gas anymore. If the car is started while engine is warm there is no smell. No check engine lights are on. I've owned the car since '01 and never had anything done to the exhaust.Where i live now we don't requiere to pass emissions but where I used to live it before i moved it failed the emissions test giving out to much co2 if i remember correctly. Any ideas what this could be?

Thanks,

Chris

could be that the cat isnt as effiecient anymore so it doesnt heat up fast enough and no longer burns the unburnt hydrocarbons while cold.

The catalytic converter is covered by the longer emissions warranty, so if you might want to look into it as it lasts longer than the B2B.
