If you leave the car under sun for a couple of hours the LCD will be clear again, i guess the lcd cristals are influenced by temperature. B) Then you can read the diagnostic codes. Good Luck IF THanks all you guys for all your help and advice. TUrned it on this morning and I can hear the compressor, it was cool out about 70 and it was blowing cold air. Weird?? The other afternoon it was about 85 ad the air wouldnt get cold. So probably the refrigerant huh? You guys been a big help!

i've two decks in mine. I had a big face alpine. And i have now a small sony deck custom put it which is under $50 for the kit at your local audio shop. Dont go to best buy or circuit city go to a real car audio shop they'll be able to do it no problem. I also have 3 1o inch JBL subs in the trunk did you have to bypass the amp? if so where can I get a bypass kit

hey guys i have a '95 sc400. When I first start the car when the engine is cold there's a very strong gas smell coming from the exhaust. When the car warms up you don't smell the gas anymore. If the car is started while engine is warm there is no smell. No check engine lights are on. I've owned the car since '01 and never had anything done to the exhaust.Where i live now we don't requiere to pass emissions but where I used to live it before i moved it failed the emissions test giving out to much co2 if i remember correctly. Any ideas what this could be? Thanks, Chris

Mine too man! I was thinking about starting a thread on it as well. Last year it seemed OK, but this year is cold as hell in Iowa and I have to do all kinds of stuff to get it warm. First, I crank it up, let it warm up some. Secondly, I jump in and hold the throttle up to ~2500-3000 for about 20-30 secs to get it up to a reasonable temp. Next, while driving, I floor it every chance I get to get it to warm up. And finally, I put it in Neutral at stop lights and hold the throttle open as I mentioned before. This all actually works reasonably well, but my gas mileage sucks because of it (understandable). Unfortunately, as soon as I slow down, as you mentioned, it starts cooling down. I've tried all vent settings and nothing holds the temp for any extended amount of time. The final clincher is that the engine temp is just below halfway (normal operating zone) and stays there regardless of what the temp blowing out of the vents feels like. I do have to say once it gets REALLy warmed up, its too hot, but it's taking FOREVER to get there. Maybe someone out here knows what we can do. yeah man when it gets warm it gets REAL warm.. only difference is my engine temp is just a hair above normal operating zone then it will drop down to regular and stay there... let me know if you ever figure it out and i'll do the same if i do.

Hey guys i have a '95 sc400. My heat only blows hot air when on highway going at least 55mph, it works great. As soon as i get off a highway or if i'm on local roads it doesn't blow hot air. anyone have this problem before or any ideas? thanks chris

I concur, Sounds like the mounts. At least it is a inexpensive fix. About How much to fix the mounts?

i was at a dealership today because i need a bigger car due to new baby... i was going to do a straight up trade for my 1995 sc400 w/173,000 miles car is in mint condition w/ 18 inch zenetti chrome rims. The only problem with my car is their is a funny vibration when the car hits 45 mph- 50 mph..sometimes from a dead stop when you go to accelerate it does this vibration too... dealer appraises my sc and says they think it needs either a tranny mount or engine mount?? what do you guys think? anyways it was a straight trade my SC400 as is for a 1995 Lincoln Towncar mint condition w/110,000. ... Good deal or no??? anybody have this funny shake in their sc's?? also i notice when car is in drive sometimes it doesn't show on my dashboard there is no light on from Park to 1... then all of a sudden the light on "D" will flicker and come on and stay on.. is this related to my shaking, tranny???
