danracefan
I am brand new to this site and to the lexus family. My wife purchased an 05 certified RX330 saturday w/ 30,000 miles we have a 3 yr, 100,000 mile certified warranty the dealer is trying to sell us an add'l 2 yrs coverage to extend the certified warranty until 5 yrs or 100,000 miles. For $1200.00 My wife drives about 13-15,000 miles per year the vehicle has nav, and seems everything is electronic I have never been a fan of ext. warranties, Im just looking for honest opinions here on if or not I should part with another $1200 to get 2 more yrs of coverage. IMO I think I should pass on this warr. but Im sure people on this forum have far more knowledge of this brand. Thank You for Your time
awdonald
I've just bought a '02 and considered a 100000mile /5 yr powertrain warranty for $600 or so...subject to negociation. But...reading the conditions...it needed 4 oil changes each year...at a "certified" garage..and so on. I intend to do the usual..oil changes, trans fluid etc myself...so no go on the warranty right off the bat. YMMV Alan
danracefan
thank You- never thought of that myself, we will def. look into this as well the dealer is calling it a "wrap" warranty, and claims its a full 2 yrs of the normal certified warranty
