Radio Controls Don't Light Up At Night

I have a 2003 GS430 and the radio control lights don't work any more.

Dealer claims that they would have to replace the whole radio.

My background is in electronics and I suspect a few 12 volt flea bulbs have been worn out. Anyone have any details on fixing this?

if u get a solution let me know! some of mine still light up but some of mine are out! mainly my vol/fm/ and i think one other out everything else works! oh mines off a 2001 gs430 with ml also

Actually the dealer is right. The bulbs inside the radio are most likely burned out.

Now you say that you have experience in electronics, I would suggest going to a car stereo shop and getting your stereo professionally removed so that you may open up the unit and replace these bulbs yourself. The cost from the auto stereo shop will be cheaper than getting a new Lexus stereo replaced.
