vyhanh Posted November 26, 2003 Posted November 26, 2003 Hi, With (for example) the Prestone flush kit, it is hooked up to the heater hose. Can I ask where is this hose and what is the procedure overall? TIA VH 91 LS400
SKperformance Posted November 27, 2003 Posted November 27, 2003 I have used it on my civic and it works great to reverse flush and clean the coolant very well. It connects to the heater core return hose to tap the "T" into it.
UCLABB Posted November 27, 2003 Posted November 27, 2003 I used it years ago. It works well, but where are you going to put the flushed coolant? It's fine if you just flush it into the gutter, but that's a no-no these days. I'd cflush the radiator myself these days, but unfortunately, no place to put the old stuff.
SKperformance Posted November 27, 2003 Posted November 27, 2003 put a bottle under the rad !Removed!. Then drop it off at the local recycling yard.Atleast we have the municipality waste sites to drop off old oil ,paint ,tires and otehr stuf for free.
UCLABB Posted November 28, 2003 Posted November 28, 2003 That's not bad for a plain drain, but with that Prestone kit you flush it with a garden hose. That makes for a lot of bottles. ;-)
