Sirius + Ipod Hardwiring? '00 Ls400

For the past year I have successfully used a Harmon Kardon Drive + Play1 to switch back and forth between my Sirius radio and iPod. The problem is that it's connected through the FM modulator and the audio is, well, mediocre. Is there a way to hardwire into the stock radio? I've seen some posts on earlier 90's model LS400's, but nothing on '99 - '00 vintage. Any alternative ideas to the Drive + Play? It is a neat device, but it is glitchy. I'm gunshy to try the Drive + Play2 at $400 since the first generation is so tempermental.
