2002 Gs300 Front 02 Sensor

Recommended Posts

Hi, I have a 2002 GS300 and my ENG light came on and it pop the code for the front 02 sensor. AUTOZONE told me that it was my 02 sensor for that paticular code. I check out the proper tool to remove the 02 sensor looks like a long socket with a crack on the side. Well, my problem is that all i did was stip the 02 sensor!! I even use a cheater bar to help me loosening and that sensor will not come off! I even make sure I went the proper way and use WD40 and it would not MOVE! Any can give me any tips or a way i can put my GS back on the road before I take it to the dealer.... Thanks!

I just changed my bank one sensor two sensor which is the post cat sensor on my 02 gs300. PB blast works much better than wd-40. I just sprayed some on the car when it was still moderately warm and let it sit for a good half an hour or so. After that it came off with no effort. Since you've already stripped the sensor I'm guessing that you'll probably have to use a channel lock or vice grip to get a good hold of that sensor. Hopefully its not a sensor that was installed incorrectly damaging the threading. Goodluck. If you get it out be sure to use the proper copper type anti-sieze compound to prevent such hardache from occuring again.

You can fool around with WD40 or PB Blaster all you want. What will work is an oxy-acetylene torch. Get it cherry red, and it will spin out of there easily. Pro's don't sit around for three days for the penetrating oil to penetrate.
