Allignment Issue?

Recommended Posts

Just wondering if anyone else has experienced this. My 06 Rx400 tends to drift to the right all the time. I don't notice it so much on short trips around town, but my arm actually gets sore on extended drives from keeping a slight adjustment to the left. The last time I took it in to have looked at, the dealer said it was because my tires needed to be replaced. I did that, but the problem persists.

yes alignment in my opinion, the 400h can pull to one side when there is a crown in the road or it is not flat, however you should not have to be constantly worrying about a pull in normal driving or on a long trip. is there another dealer you can check with, or someone else at your dealership that will take you seriously. at my dealership we can leave a message with the dealership OWNER who does have his general manager call back that same day if your problem is not resolved. is there an alignment shop that will check your car so you can go back to the dealer with hard information? also i would ask for a different service manager. i go back to the same one everytime, and we have built up a working relationship so i dont get brushed off when i voice a problem. good luck, dave

You will find my experience with this problem elsewhere with a search! As Katzjamr has indicated, the alignment is out. I had to replace tires (prematurely in my opinion) because of bad alignment. After the dealer realigned them, they were still out. (My wife took it for an 800 mile trip and found it 'pulling to the right also). I took it back and then they appear to have gotten 'serious' and fixed the alignment. I have a set of tires with about 20,000+ miles on them and no visible signs of wear! I'm sorry but 'from the factory' alignment seems less than high quality!

Thanks for the input. I did do a search, but there were several hundred topics found under "alignment"

I just got back from the dealer and all they did was rotate the tires. After leaving I still had the pulling to the right, though not as bad. I'll be taking it to an alignment specialist next week.

altho someone should have already checked this, improper tire inflation will cause pulling on this vehicle, especially if one tire is off from the others. also are you certain no one has hit a curb or otherwise bent something in the front end?

AV8TR, if you had the problem with both the old and new tires, it's not likely to be the tires that are at fault. Alignment is critical on the RX400h. I had mine aligned by my dealer and it made a considerable difference.

so is the problem fixed? Mine is pulling to the right also. Guess what? Two peoples cars pulling to the right is not an alignment issue, this is an issue with the car. Otherwise, why is one not pulling right and one pulling left?

Mine has been aligned by lexus already and is still doing. Its been doing it since we got the car 1 1/2 years ago and 25000 miles ago. We got the car with 21000 miles on it and it was doing it then. This is the 3rd time I"m in the shop for it and I believe that this is more of a problem than an alignment.
