Pause And Wait Keys Nav 6.1

Recommended Posts

Anyone know how to make use of the pause and wait keys on the Nav 6.1 telephone keypad? Our home voice mail service rings 5 times then requires that we enter a password to access our messages. I would like to be able to store our home telephone number along with a suitable pause or wait time equivalent to the 5 rings, and then have it complete the access by dialing in the password. Surely it is a simple process...but I can't figure it out...and neither can the dealer to date.

After reading your posting, I realized I wanted to do the same thing with my office voicemail. My requirements are for an ID and a password. I could not find documentation in the 2007 RX 400h manual on the pause and wait keys, but it appeared straight-forward enough to just plug them in when I wanted a pause or a wait. Unfortunately, I could not get it to work either. The car dialed the base number, but stopped at the pause command. The same happened if I used a wait command instead of pause.

I asked my salesman about it. He did not know how they are supposed to work, but was going to refer the question to their specialist. I will let you know what I hear back.

I just spoke with my salesman. We are going to setup an appointment this week with the dealership's phone expert to go over how to do this. I am a little concerned. He said I need to log into the voicemail through the phone, which sounded like the Lexus navigation pause/wait feature does not work for this purpose. I will let you know what I find out.

I do recall a similar answer somewhere on the board. You might try searching for some keywords. I don't recall the poster or details, but remember something about having to physically use the phone for this kind of interaction.
