toymig Posted October 4, 2007 Share Posted October 4, 2007 Hey guys, does anyone know how to fix the power door locks on a 1991 LS 400. I bought the car about a week ago and they were working. I was able to open and lock the doors using the key, now it won't close or open. Can it be that a fuse is burned, if so, can you tell me where to look for the burned fuses and how to replace. ROYT Posted October 10, 2007 Share Posted October 10, 2007 If you have'nt fixed this, when my key would not operate the electric door locks I found a small switch [behind the key] on the lock barrel was the fault. It is quite small with silver contacts, these were worn and when the key was turned in either direction they made no connection. Replaced with second hand one, now all fixed. If you are handy you can actually dismantle the switch and clean and check the contacts, but as its a fiddly thing to get to, have a serviceable replacement ready in case its shot!
