I purchased a 2007 IS 250 about 6 weeks ago.

I have noticed that the center stack (radio, climate control) make a squeek / creek noise. It's seems worse when the car is hot. It sounds as if the plastic material isn't rigid enough so the noise might be "flex" related.

I've been at the dealer once and have been told by the Serivce Advisor that there might be a TSB on it but when I spoke with their "Service Expert" he knew, or expected, no such bulletin.

I've also noticed that the driver's side vent slider doesn't have much tension and tends to slide all the way to the right when the blower is on high.

Has anyone experienced the same problems?

I have had the same issue with my 07 IS350. The dealer replaced the trim panels around the nav, the air vents, and eventually the wood trim on the center console. I had the EXACT problem you described--and it seemed to get worse in the high temps. The problem was so bad for me, I asked for an arbitration hearing with Lexus after the dealer could not fix the noise. I got rid of my car two weeks ago(with only 7k miles on it) --because I got no satisaction from Lexus. I will not be buying ANY lexus product again. period.

Thanks for the response. Were you able to get Lexus to take the car back or did you end up selling it outright after arbitration?

There is a TSB on this. Your dealer should know about it. It involves placing some insulation and putting some clips where the dash goes together under the windshield.

Is there a copy of the TSIB anywhere? My dash is doing this too, and I'd rather give them a copy of the TSIB rather than rely on them to "check" with the manager.

Here's a link to one PDF on instrument panel rattle.

Most of the known Lexus TSIB's are linked here:
