sramnari Posted September 9, 2003 Posted September 9, 2003 :magic: I need help with programming my remote please. I've got a 99 lexus es 300 and recently got a denso remote FCC ID hyq1512p. Ive tried the following steps: 1) Driver door is open and unlocked, key is out the ignition. 2) Key is inserted into the ignition and removed without turning. 3) Using power lock, the door is locked and unlocked 5 times. 4) the door is closed and then opened. 5) Using power lock the door is closed and opened 5 times again. 6) key is inserted in ignition turned to on position and then off, key is then removed. 7) After the locks cycle, the lock and unlock button is held simultaneously for a second. 8) Immediately after the lock button is held for 2 seconds. My problem is after step 6 when I hold down the lock/unlock button the locks cycle, but then when I hold down the lock button nothing happens.I appreciate any input.
amanda Posted September 9, 2003 Posted September 9, 2003 try holding the lock/unlock for longer than 1 second. do 2 seconds. you can also try to push the unlock button in the end, though it shouldn't matter. also, you gotta be quick.
sramnari Posted September 9, 2003 Author Posted September 9, 2003 I found out the answer by following the post for the 97 es 300, so thanks for the help.
bbsal Posted September 10, 2003 Posted September 10, 2003 let me guess.you had to turn the key more then once on and off right.i posted this in a earlier thread.i think its on off on off for programming.heres a few more in case you ever need them. reprogram mode on off 2 times(witch you did to program the remote) confirmation mode ignition switch on-off 3 times erase mode on off 5 times :D
amanda Posted September 10, 2003 Posted September 10, 2003 but i thought the two on-off was only for rewrite, not adding a new key.
bbsal Posted September 10, 2003 Posted September 10, 2003 no it will add a new key too.ive done it and it works fine. :D

mark681 Posted April 9, 2006 Posted April 9, 2006 Hi, I bought a remote off ebay for my 01 ES and it hasn't arrived yet and I have a question. I know these programming steps programs the remote, but does it also "verify" the remote key with the engine imobilizer system? Because I want to allow this remote key to not only unlock/lock the car, but also start the engine once I get it cut.
yazeedserres Posted January 31, 2007 Posted January 31, 2007 Sit in the driver's seat and lock all the doors. Unlock and open the driver's door. Insert the key into the ignition and remove it (don't turn it...just remove it). Using the MANUAL lock switch on the driver's door, lock and unlock the door 5 times. Close the door. Open the door. Lock and unlock the driver's door 5 times (I'm almost certain you use the MANUAL lock switch again, but if this sequence fails to work, try again with the power switch). Insert the key into the ignition and turn it to the "ON" position. Remove the key. The driver's door will now lock and unlock itself one time. Press and hold the "LOCK" button on the key fob for at least 1 second. Close the driver's door. Open the driver's door. Press and hold the "LOCK" button on the key fob for at least one second. Close the driver's door. Press and hold the "LOCK" button on the key fob. The door will lock. Press and hold the "LOCK" button on the key fob again. The door will unlock. You should be all set.
