Diagnostic Scan Tool For Pcs

I was at a dealer last week and talked to another Lexus RX300 1999 customer.

He said he purchased a KIT composed of:

o A cable -- DLC Connector on one end and a PC USB connector on the other.

It is attached to the OnBoard Diagnostic's Computer's -- Data Link Connector (DLC) under the dash

to the USB Personal Computer's USB connection.

o Software for the PC -- to do what the shop's diagnostic computers do or what the hand held diagnostics devices do.

Can anyone Recommend an Internet Link, Company/product name and contacts.?

Hello Roger,

I bought a bluetooth scantool (http://www.ebil.dk) and i use it with a Nokia e60 and a java program.

While driving i can see all kind of things like speed / temperature / load / fuel trims etc.

It is also possible to send data to there server so you can later see it in a web browser.

AND you can reset the "check engine light" and error codes

I used it in a new loaner from the dealer and there was even more data (how many times the engine has warmed up)

It was expencive but also a lot of fun while driving. The speedo meter on the scantool program is almost 100% perfect. The car speedo is of for 10 km/h when driving 100 km/h
