azobairi
Ok, so who's RX-350 engine makes a ticking sound while cooling down? My RX-350 just turned 5000miles, and after the first oil change I have noticed that it makes quite a bit of a ticking noise after a drive. Is this commonly being observed by other owners? -AZ
rayikone
It is the sound of the metals contracting after heat expansion.
azobairi
Thanks! But its weird that its doing this much louder AFTER the first service. My loaner RX didnt exhibit this either....
rx350guy
My new 08 RX 350 does the same thing, and I just assumed it was normal. It has done it from day one, and like you, I just turned over 5K miles. I haven't noticed any particular difference in the sound since the 5K service though.. Tim L
Yep, its just expansion and contraction of the metals and components of the engine. Its normal. It happens in EVERY car no matter how new or old.
