I was in the dealership for an oil change yesterday. The service rep said that they will charge $80 to change my cabin filter. I pulled out the manual, followed the instructions and pulled out the old filter myself. The new filter from part was ~$35 so I ended up saving myself some cash by doing it myself.

I have 9K on my '08. Just started turning on the heating and notice a terrible odor. Not sure what it is and plan on having the dealer check it...

Now that my wife's RX is about to turn 10K miles, I called up the dealer to inquire about the service. $275 dollars to change the oil, and just check everything from tire pressure to wiper blades! What a rip-off!! BTW, just an oil change was $40 so I'll end up getting that and inspect everything myself. Just wondering if other owners are paying for the astronomically priced services every 5K miles or just doing the oil changes individually? Which next service is a 'must-do' at the dealer? Thanks!

It goes away after maybe 45 seconds or so - pretty annoying for that initial period but it will silence itself if you wait for it.

Thanks! But its weird that its doing this much louder AFTER the first service. My loaner RX didnt exhibit this either....

Ok, so who's RX-350 engine makes a ticking sound while cooling down? My RX-350 just turned 5000miles, and after the first oil change I have noticed that it makes quite a bit of a ticking noise after a drive. Is this commonly being observed by other owners? -AZ

May I ask how what you were quoted for the '08 RX-350 AWD? If you dont mind could you also list the options that you are getting and the location too? I am starting my hunt and am looking to see whats out there for this vehicle...Thanks!
