TCon Posted August 29, 2007 Posted August 29, 2007 2004 LS430 with 5/32" tread depth across the rear tires (38,000 miles). Car felt a little squirrly so I had tires pulled off and found left rear so worn INSIDE the tire, next to the tread area that there was a 4-5 inch split with steel belt showing. I had the place (independent) check alighment and it showed some beyond spec situations on the other three tires. Left rear was enormously out of camber specs. They pressed me to buy a set of tires but I didnt feel comfortable with them and drove to Lexus, where another alignment was done. Their printout indicates very different alignment specs. I'd like to find out what is going on. Can anyone tell me where to go to find the official alignment tolerance specs for my car? As an aside, independent told me there was no way to adjust rear tire camber on the car. Lexus dealer verified that but installed new lower arms to correct the situation. Any help here would be appreicated.
gordonw Posted September 4, 2007 Posted September 4, 2007 That is correct. There is no adjustment on the rear camber. Adjustments are made by replacing the camber arm. They come in three different lengths.
termin8or Posted September 15, 2007 Posted September 15, 2007 I also have wear on the inside of my fronts. Tire America did an alignment and gave me a printout that showed the before and after. If you ask me they didn't do much but adjust some toe in and that wasn't a problem. They said everything was, in fact, pretty good. That the areas out of spec were very small. Also said that there was no adjustment on the rear
