Need A Key For My Es 300, How Do I Get One?

So I bought a 1998 Lexus ES 300 at an auction with no key's that came with it. How can I get a new key for it without replacing the ECU? THe local Lexus dealership quoted me at $1400 to replace it. REDICULOUS. Does anyone know of a place I can reflash the ECU or somehow bypass the key transponder? thanks

www.sparecarkeys.com The key will come to your door already cut just provide vin# and proof of ownership $ 60.00 or so not much more. My key works fine in the door and ignition.

Did you have a key to start with? That is my problem, I have no key to copy.

they cut the key based on the VIN...don't need a key as pattern.

The site indicates that you can save the $15 for cutting from the VIN if you can provide the key code. Do you know where this is marked?

Be careful, I believe the key they send you will need to be programmed and you MUST have a working master key for that. You probably will need to have the ECM reflashed which they will do for $125. Still a pretty good deal.

I'm not the OP, and actually have a working master. I'd just like to save the $15 if possible.

Separate question... If I just bought a key with the remote frame but not the remote components from that company, does anybody have the accurate instructions for reprogramming the keyless portion from another key (e.g. if I grabbed a used key from eBay to rob the remote portion from)?
