LexusRD
Hi, I own a 94 GS300 and I am having problems with the ISC. I replaced the unit recently and now I need the wire harness that connects to the Idle Speed Control valve. The connectors are in bad shape and I think they are not conducting electricity correctly. I tried calling the dealership, but they can't find a specific part number for the harness. They also told me that I probably have to buy the entire engine wire harness (~$1000!!). Is there a universal connector that I can use? or are there other ways that I can solve this issue? Thanks very much for your help. p.s. I have pics, let me know and I can send them to you... gordonw
Generally you can get a connector for repairs, but unfortunately Toyota/Lexus did a very, very poor job with their electrical connector listing for the earlier cars. They're very difficult to look up. You just can't type in idle speed control and expect to find a connector number. The only way to find it is by the connector housing shape. Took awhile, but I may have the information you need. Unfortunately I don't have the valve or connector to verify this information so you're going to have to take it on faith. The connector that connects to the idle speed control valve is probably grey in color and has 6 terminals, in two rows of 3. The part number for the connector is 90980-11144. The connector will not come with the wires/terminals, so you would need to order 6 of them. Part number for the wires/terminals is 82998-12440 and you would need to order 6 of them. Good luck.
