B0b
I have a 2001 LS430 with the Mark Levinson system. The right rear speaker in the package tray "crackles" sometimes at low volume levels and especially at low bass tones. Has anyone had this problem, and what was the solution? RFeldes
Typical ML speaker. The cone begins to separate from the outer edge. Place a bead of rubber cement around the perimiter of the cone "all the way around" and allow it to dry for 12 hours. Worked for me. You can also buy cone cement but it's expensive. The car is still under warranty, but the problem is intermitant and the dealer doesn't seem to be able to duplicate it.
RFeldes
If it intermittant then do a visual inspection of the cone first. If it is not separated then I would suspect the drive circuitry for that speaker or a connection problem.
