Front End "pop" Noise When Slow Turning Or Parking

Recommended Posts

Hello,

New to the board and I was wondering if any of you have experienced this same issue?

I have a new LS460 with approx 1400 miles about a month old. When parking or turning slow I'm noticing a dull "pop" type sound-almost like linkage connecting or moving together. Someone mentioned they though it could be the Brake Calipers. I'm taking it into the dealership tomorrow morning to have it checked out.

Thanks

UPDATE: I spoke to the service advisor who seemed to be well aware of the problem-he took over the description of the problem mid-way through my explination. He stated that it was an issue with the springs in the front-end and that they would have to replace some rubber bushings, he also made the comment that Lexus was aware of the issue and that there was talk of Lexus redesigning a new sping later this year, but nothing definite at this point. I'll update after the repair

UPDATE: The initial fix was going to be to install "dampers"-rubber sleeves over the front coil springs. After several days I was told that Lexus had provided the new designed coil springs and the dealer would be installing these instead of the dampers. I've had the car back for 4 days and no more front end noise.

Hi:

I got a new LS460 two weeks ago, and began to hear a similar noise since 3-4 days ago. I called the dealer but they don't seem to know, and told me it's normal due to fuel injector. Fortunately, I found your posting. I was very surprised that only you and I had this problem. The noise definitely cannot be tolerated.

I sent my dealer your posting and hope that they can recongnize it.

Is it true after the car is driven for a while, the noise decreases, which is my impression. I want to make sure my dealer can reproduce the problem so they will fix it. I will probably have to leave the car overnight. How did you get them to reproduce it?

Thanks
