2005 RX330 in New England.

When the car has been sitting outside when the air temperature

is hot the windows stick when you try to open them. There's

a line on the window where the window meets the seal.

The dealer claims the window isn't clean and it is build-up

of "interior compartment pollution".

I recently cleaned the windows, inside and out, and scraped

clean the line on the window. I parked at work the

next day, it was hot, and at the end of the day the

windows stuck and the line on the window returned.

My theory is the window seal is "melting" on the window.

Anyone experience this, and if so, any ideas on how

to fix this?

Thx,

Jeff

I have had the exact same window sticking issue with my 04 RX330. I live in a hot/humid South Texas climate. My Lexus service advisor told me over the phone that I should clean the window and the rubber gaskets/seal surface with "denatured alcohol" and then apply Toyota silicone lubricant to the gasket surfaces. He suggested that it was a combination of wax/soap residue that just needed to be removed.

I cleaned the gaskets and applied silicone lubricant this past week and it has helped. There is no longer a line of material on the glass when I open the windows after a few hot afternoons. I would say that it is about 90% solved. The 2 back windows don't stick at all now. I am going to clean the gasket/seal surfaces one more time with alcohol and reapply the silicone lubricant. If this continues I plan on having the service department address it on my next scheduled maintenance. I will post back if the problem is completly gone after the next cleaning.

It sounds like when you cleaned the window, you didn't clean the jams( the grove in which the window rests)

you can use the same cleaner and lubricant to take care of that.
