gsxtcy Posted November 20, 2002 Posted November 20, 2002 Hello everyone, this is my first post! My better half and I are new Lexus owners. I actively participate on another forum (corvetteforum) and hope this forum is just as informative and interesting. Now for the question. What type of transmission fluid do I need for our 99 GS 300? Where to buy, and how many quarts? Thanks in advance!
BennyBlanco Posted June 27, 2003 Posted June 27, 2003 I think it's called Type 2 trans fluid, you can get it from any Lexus ot Toyota dealership. I tried to get it from auto parts stores and they do not have it.
dcfish Posted June 29, 2003 Posted June 29, 2003 :D replace fluid every15,000 or 24 months , lexus/toyota type 2 fluid , dryfill is 8.9 qts.[6.7] litres , refill is 2.0 qts./[1.9] litres, and try redline synthetic atf that is what i run and it is really smooth. nice chatting,
Lkevon Posted June 29, 2003 Posted June 29, 2003 umm...i think gs300 and gs400 use the same type fluids! i recall helping my buddy change his 98' gs300 with toyota type t-iv fluid which are the same with my gs400. double check the manual before putting in the wrong type!!!
dcfish Posted September 1, 2003 Posted September 1, 2003 :D :D :D it's a 98 black on black , really love the car .
