BlurrySC300 Posted September 1, 2003 Posted September 1, 2003 Ever notice how you can't redline in a 5speed? Anyone know who I can take my car to or what chip I can take out so that I can redline? Just slows me down really. Of course, redlining insent really good for the engine, but, I only need to when I try and top the speed...which I have never done...just curious. --John
AWJ Posted September 1, 2003 Posted September 1, 2003 I've never had a problem meeting the rev limiter in a 5 speed or auto. The only way I know of to change the engine management is via standalone or companies like g-force or jet. At what rpm does your car cut?
jakino3388 Posted September 1, 2003 Posted September 1, 2003 try disconecting your battery for about 2 to 3 hours and then try driving around after that, but try red lining it becasue ecu,, is of then have to reprogram it a little. thats what i did now i can redline mine and i have a 4speed auto.
BlurrySC300 Posted September 1, 2003 Author Posted September 1, 2003 It redline at 6200 rpm I believe... --John PS - I'll try the battery idea here in a sec..
AWJ Posted September 2, 2003 Posted September 2, 2003 That is about right. And the way it should be without some type of head work.
