dansawyer
Good morning, The vehicle is a '91 LS400. The AC is low, the site glass shows almost no fluid. The pressure is high enough to allow the compressor to run. My question is: What is the Schrader valve fitting? R12 systems (and I believe r134a) have the fitting threads on the outside of the valve stem, like a normal tire, etc. The fitting on this system are on the inside of the valve stem. I have not seen this type of fitting before. What is it? What does it imply as to the coolent? Thanks - Dan
dansawyer
I took the vehicle to the local auto shop. The R12 system had been converted to r134a. The system holds a chargs but apparently has a small to medium leak. There is dye in it so the next step is to look for the leak. - Dan
