masterrich
Can anyone help me with a solution to my problem? My ES300 is very noisy inside the cabin and it appears to be from the rear tires. They are Toyo Proxes J33 tires with great tread left.
steviej
"with great tread left" this is very subjective. How many miles are on the tires and how old are they? Rubber can harden over time regardless of usage or lack of usage. Harder rubber can cause more road noise. Frankly I am not surprised that you have increased noise. I had a set of Toyo FZ4s and by 21,000 miles, it sounded like an 18 wheeler inside the cabin. Several other people also have reported on this forum that their Toyo Proxes also increased significantly in the noise department despite still having usable tread left. steviej
Ray92es
Try swapping your tires to the front and see what happens. Could be tires or hubs
SW03ES
Easy, replace the tires. In my experience Toyo tires get VERY loud long before the tread wears out.
wwest
For some reason I have noticed that factory supplied tires are now getting quite noisy at ~8000 miles plus. My answer has been to buy a good quality undercoating in spray cans, steam or pressure wash the interior wheel well and then apply about three even coats of the undercoat waiting each time until the previous coat dries thoroughly. When you replace the tires give good consideration to bridgestone turanza summer only tires.
