camlex
Hello, Output of my Alternator showing 12.65 Oreilly saying to replace. He mentioned it should be closed to 14 If it is true than upgrade with Higher Amps or stay with same? which is highlender with same swap. mine is '97. Safety is always first priority. Electrical fire. Thanks in advance.
CUMan
I have a 1994 ES 300. Periodically, I check the alternator output with a multi-meter. It is usually in the area of 14.4 volts. I would agree that 12.65 volts indicates an alternator problem. The standard replacement alternator would meet the needs of most people, in my opinion. Toysrme
Anything over 13.8v is fine. Anything over 14v is candy. All the v6 highlander alts should swap. They're MZ block v6's also lifted straight out of the Camry platform. :) ya for us woot! I wouldn't go to the expence of upgrading the alt if you don't have an amp & some good audio equipment. camlex
Thanks, Toysrme, Car is running fine, starting and headlights are fine. Since car has high mileage, I am thinking to change it. Totoya asking for $209 with returning my old one.(1 Year 12000 miles) Oreilly asking $138 with returning my old one.(Lifetime) Thanks,
05IS300
I would spend the extra cash and get the factory one.You get a lifetime warranty with the aftermarket but it sucks having to change it every couple of years. How long did the original last?
