ludes98 Posted April 3, 2007 Posted April 3, 2007 My passenger mirror (2001 Ls) is no longer functioning. Probably not all that uncommon, but it is strange as to how is stopped functioning. The dimming is now always dark except for a perfect circle in the middle of it. How is that possible? Why couldn't it break undimmed??!!! It is driving my wife crazy. I checked with the local dealer and got a price of about $500, they thought it was strange too. I cracked that they should fix it free for R&D; we all had a good laugh about that one. I checked an online lexus parts dealer and found the glass itself for $296. Are there other parts that need replaced or is there $200 worth of labor to get it done?
SKperformance Posted April 3, 2007 Posted April 3, 2007 all over ebay for less than $100 with a whole assembly. Easy to replace just pry up and it pops off from the bottom.
ludes98 Posted April 4, 2007 Author Posted April 4, 2007 The stuff I saw on ebay was more than $100 and from a parts recycler. Noo problem with that but the pics are hard tell if there is damage. I had my mirrors repainted recently and don't want to have to do that again. Can I just replace the guts or is that hard? I guess I'll take it apart this weekend and find out. :D
dougs 400 Posted May 2, 2007 Posted May 2, 2007 My '95 LS400 outside mirrors both became non-functional together over one evening last week. the drivers side is dark and light, sorta fractured looking, and the right side is just messed up looking in the center. Any suggestions as to how to fix?
