aggiecarpenter
I recently got my coolant flushed and noticed that there is a tiny amount of coolant coming out of the filler plug on the water inlet housing. It looks like there is gasket below the plug. Will replacing this gasket solve my problem? Anyone know if this is an easy part to get at a local auto parts store, or one I need to find online? larryp
I believe there is a metal washer that goes beneath the plug. Might want to go OEM if you need to replace cause its probably a soft metal to help it mold to the space between plug head and housing. You could try RTV sealant in the meantime. SKperformance
Get some threadlocker gasket sealent from an auto parts store. You need a medium hold nothing to stiff. let the car cool and then remove the bolt , clean it and then spread a small amount on the threads ,reinsert and the leak will no longer pass the threads . Sounds easy enough. Thanks for the info.
