grinner
Whenever I pop the hood for anything I have to wedge a piece of wood under it because the pneumatic gizmos don't seem to be doing their job anymore. Am I stuck with an expensive parts replacement, or is there another solution?

Am I stuck with an expensive parts replacement, or is there another solution? unfortunately these parts do fail after a while, especially when it gets cold.. but if you're really frugal and don't spend too much time working under the hood a peice of an old mop stick works fine... I'm not certain for you model but i'm sure there has got to be a cheaper aftermarket replacement than the $75 oem ones. i.e. these http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Lexus-GS300...sspagenameZWD1V
grinner
Ha Ha. I've been using an old broomstick. I guess I don't spend enough time under the hood (it is a Lexus after all!) to justify spending on some new bits. Maybe I should just get a smart looking stick in keeping with the look of the car.
