Banshee365
1996 Lexus LS400 keeps blowing the front cig fuse. Which goes along with the A/C and clock as well. Did it once a few weeks ago and I replaced the fuse and it went a while longer. Until yesterday, replaced it again last night and it blew again toda. What could be going on? I'm thinking maybe something in the cig lighter that's too much draw or maybe there is a short somewhere. What do yall think? -Kelly
blake918
The same thing happened to me when my cigarette lighter worked its way loose (I could rattle it with my finger) and kept blowing the fuse. I tightened it up, and it has been fine.
Banshee365
I'm 99% sure that I found the problem. It was with the front cig lighter. One of my mothers accesories she uses in the car had come apart and 3 pieces of metal were bouncing around in the lighter. I'm almost positive that was shorting that circuit and blowing the fuse. She called the Toyota dealer and they said it's probably something with the A/C compressor clutch and it could cost alot of money. I'm glad she didn't take in there! -Kelly
