MJiggity Posted January 16, 2007 Posted January 16, 2007 i've had trouble getting it started for a week now and it seems to be getting worse. Battery tests fine and alternator is good also. I turn the ignition and get just a click. I continue to turn ignition repeatedly and every 8-10 turns it will weakly try to turn over and after some more turns I usually get it to eventually start. Could this be the starter failing? Please any advice would be greatly appreciated!!!!!! It didn't start at all yesterday.

Sounds like you need new starter contacts, Same thing happened to me last year.

Around $100.00 to have it done, I don't have a price on the contacts, They can't be too much maybe $20.00 or so. You can DIY, It's really helpful to get the car up on a rack.
stc Posted February 5, 2007 Posted February 5, 2007 That sounds a lot like the problem we are having with our 95 GS 300. Sometimes turning the key gets no response from the engine although the radio, lights, etc. come on. After multiple trys, the engine cranks just fine. Were starter contacts the solution?
