BennyBlanco Posted August 19, 2003 Posted August 19, 2003 I noticed th VSC light came on at the same time the check engine light came on. Does anyone know what might cause this problem and would the warranty cover it?
Blk on Blk GS 300 Posted August 19, 2003 Posted August 19, 2003 If this is a new vehicle then yes the warrenty would cover it. I have not had that happen so I couldn't tell you what it means. In my roommates case ('93 GS) those two lights came on and then a couple of days later the ABS light came on as well and it turned out to be some fluke thing that Lexus was unable to find with diag yet when reset it never came back. That could be a one in a mill chance for all I know though....suggestion, take it to lexus.
SW03ES Posted August 19, 2003 Posted August 19, 2003 Blk on Blk, Well the 93 doesn't have a VSC light, you mean the TRAC light? My guess is there's something wrong with one of the yaw sensors for the VSC. The lights stay on when you restart the engine?
Blk on Blk GS 300 Posted August 19, 2003 Posted August 19, 2003 Thank you! This is what I meant (I think)...like I said, it was my rommie's car, I just had to hear about him b*tch about if for about 4 days...
BennyBlanco Posted August 20, 2003 Author Posted August 20, 2003 SW03ES the light does stay on when I restart engine. Well today when I put gas the light went out, it might of been the gas because my cousin warned me not to get gas from that gas station (that is when the light first went on).
JPI Posted August 23, 2003 Posted August 23, 2003 It's not the gas. Go to autozone and let them retrieve the code. Write down the code and I will tell you what is wrong. JPI
SW03ES Posted August 25, 2003 Posted August 25, 2003 No its not the gas, even if it were it wouldn't just reset after refilling, the issue would have to work itself out. I agree, take it to Autozone and have the code read.

LATINA Posted September 13, 2003 Posted September 13, 2003 :( Hi guys , I just got the check engine light /vsc light virus last night. After filling my tank up with premium gas from Chevron. I noticed that my gas cap was not turned all the way to end. Could any one of you tell me the following 1. The solution to a problem like this. 2. Will this prevent me from driving the car 3. If yes to Question 2, what are the other complications that might arise from this 4. What are the best gas stations to get gas for the Lexus your responses will be highly appreciated thanks LEXUS GS 400 1998
bluelex Posted September 14, 2003 Posted September 14, 2003 my engine light came on from the gas cap not being on tight and on again from pooring gas while the car was on. have u added an intake lately it happens with those too. if they don't come with and ecu upgrade...but autozone is the best way 2 find out.
vanzant78 Posted November 27, 2003 Posted November 27, 2003 Auto zone in california no longer does the computer diagnostic to retrieve codes. They're being sued by Pep Boys who charges for the service and thinks auto zone should not be able to offer it free. I say boycott Pep Boys
SpeedyGs Posted November 27, 2003 Posted November 27, 2003 Oh Sh t so i getting my Injen intake in week. Does this mean i might have the check engine light problem too then. How often it happen??? Everytimes you change your intake or randomly happen.Thank
