2007 Is250 Awd Automatic Transmission Problem

I now have about 4500 miles on my new 2007 IS250AWD and have started to experience a strange problem with the automatic transmission. When the car is cold in the morning and I start to drive off the transmission shifts from 1st to 2nd and then stays in 2nd and will not shift to 3rd. The only way I can get it to shift is move the shift lever over to the sport mode and manually shift to 3rd gear.

This happened today even when the car was warm and started not to shift down.

Any suggestions or ideas ...

I have scheduled a 5000 mile oil change and will have the dealer look at this.

I'd take it in NOW. Don't wait another 500 miles. At the very least, call the dealer first thing Monday.
