plangp
I have just started to get a foul odor from the ventilation system when it is the fresh air mode. The smell does not smell like burning oil, but more like burning rubber. It is most noticable in the fresh air mode and seems stronger inside the cabin than it is under the hood. The smell started right after getting the car back from the Lexus dealer after the 90,000 mile maintenance. Many posts point to valve cover gasket, but it smells more like the belt of a vacuum cleaner that has fried. Any suggestions? Thanks. SKperformance
Your pulley may be rubbing against the belt. Take a look and see if it is?

Thanks, i have had a look at the pulleys and there do not seem to be unusual rub markks. I am beginning to think exhaust leak.
Toysrme
Change the power steering & alt belts, or atleast add tension to them. It's time for a timing belt & water pump if you didn't do them @ 60,000 miles.
