dole2000 Posted October 1, 2006 Posted October 1, 2006 I need to change the spark plugs on my 91LS. I've been dreading doing it becasue it has been over a 100K since it was done and don't want to deal with a stuck plug. Is there any lubricant I can use, or impact wrench that makes it easier. I've read on the forum where people have broken sprak plugs. I have never done this before and would prefer to avoid the experince. Thanks, Bob :chairshot:
mehullica Posted October 1, 2006 Posted October 1, 2006 Plugs should come out by hand tools easily, the wires may break if they are old.
VBdenny Posted October 1, 2006 Posted October 1, 2006 Just be sure to use a good quality 6 point socket. Using a 12 point on a plug with 100 grand could cause it to round off. If you are concerned try to squirt a little WD-40 or Liquid wrench in first and let soak for a few hours without running hte engine.
