nivek Posted August 12, 2003 Posted August 12, 2003 I'm looking to install a new timing belt and water pump on my own. I'm wondering if I'm getting in over head. Anyone have any expeience with this? Anyone know where I can find a used/cheap set of shop manuals for a 93 es300?
SKperformance Posted August 13, 2003 Posted August 13, 2003 i would say no don't do it it is a pain in the !Removed! and can lead to some very nice repair bills if not done properly i went to scholl as a auto tech and i don't even want to do mine i take it to a lexus tech who does them all day and for 250 in 3 hours unless you do these things alot i would never open it up
JPI Posted August 16, 2003 Posted August 16, 2003 I can do these T-betl in 45 minutes but if you don't know what you are doing it could take 3 days and cause a lot of damaged. JPI

JPI exactly what jpi said and by the way 250 was just for labour and it is in Canadian i spent 150 for a new water pump and belt so 400 canadian total at a dealer with a dealer tech 45 minutes is real fast does that include refilling and ppurgeing the coolant?
JPI Posted August 16, 2003 Posted August 16, 2003 96 and up es300 take me 45 minutes, 96 and later take me 1 hr. Older Es kinna trikcy and you have to take a lot more out. Drive in and out for 45 minutes. Would you like an engine swap to go with your T-belt? :P JPI
